Wax Free Toilet Seal

This isn't a question, but a comment on your waxless toilet seals. Those things are EXCELLENT! I'm a DIY remodeler and have set numerous toilets over the years with wax rings. I've always thought that surely someone could come up with something more advanced than a bunch of wax that smooshes down and hopefully seals, at least for a while. well, you guys did a great job with this product.

I'm a retired manufacturing engineer, and I've been around adhesives quite a bit, but whatever that glue is on this product is really something else. I had to pull a toilet that had one of these installed, and I thought for sure that the adhesive would fail before it came out of the pipe, but it didn't! Amazing!
For a few bucks more than the cost of the Neanderthal wax ring, using the Fernco waxless seal is a no-brainer.

Product: Wax Free Toilet Seal

Recently, I had to re-seat a leaky toilet. When I removed the toilet, I saw that it had two extra deep wax rings as it was previously reseated after tiling the floors and the flange was very deep. Researching online, I came upon your FTS-4 Wax Free toilet seal. Following the instructions, I cleaned around the sealing area and attached the product. I had my doubts. When I was re-installing the toilet, I accidentally dropped it. Needless to say, I am now looking for a new replacement. However, as a test, to see how tightly the seal was attached to the toilet, I tried to pull it off. It took some effort. In fact, the sticky gue came off the rubber but stayed on the toilet. I was really impressed with how well it attached it's self to the toilet. I am looking for a new toilet, but will definitely be picking up another FTS4. Hopefully, I will not drop this one :)

I just wanted to take a moment, and remark about one of your products. My name is David Contestabile. I am an independent contractor in the St. Louis, Mo area, and I also rehab. distressed homes. Several years ago, I began using your Wax-Free Toilet Seal, because it allows me to pull and reset a toilet numerous times, without fail, as a bathroom remodel is underway. I have always gone to plumber supply companies, as they weren't available at Lowe's or Home Depot. And since I purchase all of my other supplies at the big hardware stores, it has been somewhat inconvenient, so I buy several at a time. But, I was in Lowe's the other day to grab some toilet rebuild kits, and I saw they are now carrying your product. It's fantastic to see them there. I would like to see if perhaps you could try to get them in Home Depot as well- The design, of this, is virtually fail-safe as it has a 3" neck that extends down into the flange. I never use anything else anymore, and I let everyone I can, know about them (I usually have a few of both 3" & 4" on hand).

I would like to suggest though, that there could be a display box/stand that the stores can position in the aisle, but off... Read more ...

Fernco, Just wanted to give a testimonial. We had talked last summer when I was looking for a source for the FTS-3 toilet seal. What I want to tell you is about the service of the product. In August of 2009 I reinstalled a toilet using the FTS-3. Last week I purchased another toilet as the original had problems. When I removed the original toilet, I had to give it several tugs to get it up. Didn’t know what I would find, but the seal was firmly glued to the horn of the toilet. In fact it was so tight that I could lift the toilet bowl up by the seal. Just wanted you to know that such a simple ( but well made product ) can give such peace of mind. Again, many thanks for your help. I hope the rest of the world gets to experience the quality of Fernco products.

I couldn’t believe my eyes when early this morning a FedEx truck delivered the toilet seals we spoke of yesterday afternoon!

I haven’t had a chance to install your product yet – but if it is half as good as your effort to help me – I’m sure my problem will be fixed.

I hope I didn’t sound angry in any of my communications with you. I wasn’t angry at all – just a little frustrated at not being able to find your product stocked locally.

Everyone I spoke to here in the Dallas, Texas area represented your company courteously. Since I am just a “home owner” looking for one seal – they were probably not used to dealing with such a small amount of product.

Your response to my E-mails, however, went way beyond the usual and “required” responses from most customer service departments!!

Thank you so much for helping me. I may not have much influence with those who might use your products (plumbers etc.) but you can be sure that I will share this experience with my friends and acquaintances.

(I do have one friend who is a plumber and is very interested in how this seal works for me).
